Best Time to Visit Puri

Puri is located in the eastern part of India in the state of Orissa by the Bay of Bengal. Its proximity to the sea makes it a destination of choice throughout the year, however the best time to visit is between October to March. Summers are very hot in Puri with daytime temperatures touching almost the lower thirties. Winters are pleasant with temperatures staying around maximum 25 degree to minimum 15 degree centigrade. South-west monsoon winds bring heavy showers to the place between June and mid of October. Evenings are really pleasant in Puri with cool winds blowing in from the sea.

Puri is a land of religious festivals and the most famous of them is the Ratha Yatra which is celebrated during the month of July. November is the month for the Puri Beach festival which is also attended by several tourists throughout the country and abroad. In essence there is no fixed season or time to travel to Puri and can be visited anytime of the year.
